The Purpose
The Longview Community Foundation is about keeping Longview strong — not just today, but for our kids and future generations. It’s a way for people who care about the quality of life here to pool their giving and think about big, long-term projects, so we can make a lasting impact together.
The Dream
The Foundation is kind of like a community savings account for good — focused entirely on Longview’s future. Right now, we have a strong framework and a big dream: to build a $100 million Longview Forever Fund permanent fund by 2050.
The Plan
Donations will be used for the Longview Forever Fund, a permanent fund to benefit the greater Longview area. The Longview Forever Fund will have two purposes:
Support major capital projects and operational grants for our existing nonprofits.
Fund local, community-changing projects…projects that aren’t the government’s job to spend our taxes on nor the job of our great local nonprofits, but instead legacy projects that will change the trajectory of our community to ensure it thrives for generations to come. percent of the contribution will be held in the permanent Longview Forever Fund
Long-term, Longview Community Foundation plans to offer additional important services such as donor advised funds, scholarship and endowment accounts, field of interest funds and community grants. Through these additional services, as well as continued growth of the Longview Forever Fund, we will promote increased charitable giving and make Longview the most charitable community in East Texas!
