What Could Longview Look Like in 10 Years?

If you ask ten people what they love about Longview, you’ll likely hear ten different answers. For some, it’s the sense of community. For others, it’s the schools, the churches, the small businesses, or the simple fact that people still know their neighbors. But if you ask a different question, "What could Longview become?", you start to unlock something even more powerful.
At the Longview Community Foundation, we believe the future of our city is not something that just happens. It’s something we build—intentionally, together. Across Longview, there are already people doing incredible work: nonprofits serving families, educators shaping the next generation, business leaders creating opportunity. The opportunity in front of us is to connect these efforts, align resources, and think bigger about what’s possible when we work together.
Imagine a Longview where every student has a clear pathway to opportunity. Where nonprofits are fully resourced and collaborating instead of competing. Where bold community ideas don’t stall because of funding gaps, but instead are launched, supported, and sustained. This isn’t a distant vision. It’s a direction we can move toward starting now.
One of the ways we do this is by building long-term capacity through the Longview Forever Fund. Instead of relying only on year-to-year giving, this fund is designed to grow over time—creating a permanent source of support for the community. The goal is simple but ambitious: to ensure that future generations of Longview residents inherit a community that is even stronger than the one we know today.
The future of Longview will be shaped by the choices we make today. And the question we’re inviting our community to consider is this: What do we want to build together?
Be part of building Longview’s future
Join us in shaping what comes next for our community—through giving, partnership, or simply being part of the conversation.
