The Purpose
One role of a community foundation is to manage a permanent fund that pools community resources and taps into the universal human desire to help your neighbor and make your community better. The Longview Community Foundation’s inaugural fund will be the Longview Forever Fund, which will allow us to combine our resources and have an even greater impact.
The Dream
Imagine…in 2050, the Longview Forever Fund is a permanent fund of $100 Million that every year awards $5 million for community-changing catalyst grants and in support of existing local charities. Imagine the impact that would have on our community!
The Plan
Donations will be used for the Longview Forever Fund, a permanent fund to benefit the greater Longview area. Ninety percent of the contribution will be held in the permanent Longview Forever Fund. Ten percent will fund operations of the Longview Community Foundation as we work towards our fundraising goal of $5 million.
Long-term, Longview Community Foundation plans to offer additional important services such as donor advised funds, scholarship and endowment accounts, field of interest funds and community grants. Through these additional services, as well as continued growth of the Longview Forever Fund, we will promote increased charitable giving and make Longview the most charitable community in East Texas!
